Puppy Transport

We have puppies living all over the continent from our farm!!

Please consider the following transport options:

IN CABIN FLIGHT

The very best way we have found for a pup to travel to it's new home is by air, in cabin, with you!

We are conveniently located very near Salt Lake City airport and can meet you there with your pup ready for travel! You simply book a ticket to SLC with a prompt return flight. We meet you at the airport with your pup ready for travel. This includes a travel carrier, a health certificate if needed, food for travel, toys for travel, and a blanket that smells like mom and the litter.

We do much work to prepare pups for travel including:
1. Extra vet visit for health certificate if needed.
2. Hours of training the pup to be comfortable in travel carrier .
3. Hours of active time before flight to ensure your pup is calm and ready for travel.

An added charge of $100 covers all costs (excluding flight costs) to prepare pup for flight and meet you at the airport. You are responsible for booking and paying for flight and arranging with us the time to meet.

***** Some Newfypoo puppies may be too large to fly in cabin even at 8-9 weeks. please discuss the best mode of transport with me before booking your flight.

In preparation for booking your ticket for flight with pup in cabin please consider the following. ...

*****If you book online....after you book your flight you will need to call the airline and add the pup in cabin to your ticket . This is usually $100-$125 depending on the airline and paid at check in. But must be reserved on your ticket.

It is best to allow about 2 hours between your incoming and outgoing flight to leave time for puppy hand off, check in, and security.

Make sure the timing works for me to meet you at the airport before booking your flight. Txt is the best way to do this.

Many airlines have varying minimum age requirements for in cabin flight. Please note these are large breed puppies and most will not fit in cabin much after 8-9 weeks of age (Delta I am talking to you!!!!) Most airlines the age will be 8 weeks. Delta the age is 10 weeks. THEY ONLY ASK THE PUPS AGE. No verification is required at check in. Get my drift? We have 8 week old pups fly on Delta all the time with zero issues.

Many airlines will ask you the weight of the pup when booking. I just give the general guess of 15 lb. Again, they do not weigh the pup at check in.

Most airlines will let you check in at the counter and pay the additional fee for the pup BEFORE I even meet you there with the pup. DO THIS. It will make things much easier on you to have this part complete before taking possession of your puppy.

Many airlines will want the exact dimensions of the travel bag for the pup. We use soft sided carrier bags that confirm to almost any space. 19.6" L x 10"w x 13.5" h.

NERVOUS ABOUT FLIGHT WITH A PUP???
Don't be! Here are a few things to know and helpful tips!!!.

Your pup will have everything needed for travel.
Your pup will be tired, empty, and ready for a nice long nap!
We will meet at the curbside passenger drop off area at the airport.

Avoid all "pet relief stations" as your pup is not fully vaccinated until 14 weeks of age.
After check in go into the bathroom and grab some paper towels to have on hand......
If they do need to "go" let them go. Wipe it up and throw it away! I say this but to this date I don't believe we have had more than one or two pups ever "go" during travel. And they were VERY long trips!

Keep them out of the bag until take off. Most airlines will only require the pup to be in the bad during check in, take off, and landing. Some of this is left to the discretion of your flight attendants. Use your wait time in the airport to walk the pup around, work on some leash training, some socializing, and bonding with your new pup! Just avoid contact with other dogs as you don't know where they have been;)

Keep them cool. If you think your pup is getting too hot in their travel bag ask for some ice to offer them. Do not offer too much water (a small amount it ok), or any food during travel unless it is a super long trip. Otherwise they will be fine to eat when you get home!

CARGO/GROUND TRANSPORT

We can also ship via cargo air and ground transport if you prefer. We can discuss options for this via phone or txt. PLEASE NOTE>>> as of 3/30/2020 there is an embargo on most cargo pet flights. check with airlines for availability!!!!

SEATTLE

We have family in the Kent area and travel up that way often. Please inquire about transport to SEA TAC or Kent area with our family. We have happily transported many pups with us in car or airline  cabin. The added cost for this is $300 total.

ROAD TRIP!!!

Many families opt to drive here to SLC and pick up their pup. Again please confirm a day and time for pick up. Also note that when you stop along the way to let the pup relieve itself, stay away from high traffic areas like rest stops and gas stations where many dogs frequent. Instead opt for dirt roads or other "off the beaten path" stops to protect your young pup from illness! Hold off on feeding until you have reached your destination for that day to avoid car sickness. Offer water often. Keep the pup cool by keeping them out of direct sunlight and near a cool air vent. They tend to love the floor of the front passenger seat with the foot air vent on them!!!
